Q: When do I need to submit my course pack material?
A: To accommodate your busy schedule, we routinely complete custom publishing orders within two weeks after submission. Although a quick two-week turn-around time is possible in most cases, we encourage you to submit your materials as early as four weeks in advance to guarantee delivery by the first class day.

Q: How do I submit my material to University Readers?
A: You may submit your materials through online electronic submission, by mail or courier (request a pre-paid ordering kit), or (in San Diego only) by arranging pick-up by a University Readers representative. Q: Will University Readers provide me with complimentary desk copies?
A: University Readers provides complimentary copies to professors and teaching assistants. Unless otherwise requested, complimentary copies will be distributed to the address indicated on your order form prior to the student distribution period.

Q: Are there certain publishers I should avoid?
A: University Readers is happy to request permission to reprint any material you request. However, it is true that some publishers are more difficult and more costly than others when it comes to granting permission. Based on our experience, we may be able to make publisher recommendations that will help your project go more smoothly with regards to time and cost.

Q: What additional services does University Readers provide?
A: At University Readers, we specialize in custom publishing for the academic market. Unlike copy shops, our services include professional management of copyright clearances, table of contents creation, book pagination, and digital editing and touch-ups at no additional cost to you or your students. To ensure that your ideal textbook or course pack becomes a reality, we also offer a number of high-quality custom solutions for your course materials.


Q: Where are my originals? How do I get them back?
A: We will always return original books or journals to you as soon as we are sure that high-quality reproductions have been made and stored in our system.

Reproduced originals (copied before submission) will be returned upon request. If no request for return is made, ALL photocopied originals are carefully archived in both digital and hard-copy formats for easy retrieval and future manipulation.

Q: What if my students or I need additional copies?
A: Our streamlined publishing and printing process allows us to provide you with rapid print-on-demand service so that reprints are easy to order, easy to produce and are deliverable within just 1-2 days of reorder.

If you require extra instructor copies please contact us by phone or email. We will usually ship your order or send it out for delivery the same day if placed by 2pm on a business day. Orders placed after 2pm or on a non-business day are usually shipped on the very next business day.

Students have several options for purchasing additional copies, depending on location and the student distribution method you selected when you placed your original course pack order.
