My packet from University Readers arrived a few days after I placed the order, however, as soon as I placed the order, I had immediate online access to the first few readings from the packet. The packet arrived in excellent condition and it was clean and sturdy.
~ Allegra Apple, Student (CSU East Bay)
Course packs are a big improvement over textbooks because they don't weigh as much, and they have the required excerpts from the textbook inside them.
~ Allison Higgins, Student (CSU Sacramento)
I actually made a mistake of the address that the book had to be shipped too and a representative caught the mistake and called me! It was very helpful and relieved a lot of stress for me.
~ Alyssa Bereznak, Student (UCSD)
The availablity of 20% of the reader for download is great!
~ Amanda Merchant, Student (UCI)
University Readers is the best set of course packs I have ever purchased.
~ Andrew Aronoff, Student (Washington U in St. Louis)
This helps out students who are savy in email and website orders for books for your classes. I highly recommend using University Readers.
~ Angelina Cardone, Student (CALARTS)
It was great I had my course reader delivered the next day.
~ Annette Rodriguez, Student (UCR)
I had to register at another graduate school - not my home university. The customer service agent who was helping was very professional.
~ Arlen Harris, Student (Weston Jesuit School of Theology)
I highly recommend the course packs. They are informative and I loved using it in my English class. It was the first time I ever had one, however I would hope my future teachers will take advantage and catch onto the effectiveness of the course packs.
~ Billy Fine, Student (Hofstra U)
It was extremely easy to navigate and find what I needed the checkout process was so easy.
~ Brandice Thompson, Student (USC)
It's often cheaper than xeroxing, we can read ahead if we want, we don't have to punch holes in print outs, and the readings are all in one place. It just makes more sense!
~ Brian Lee, Student (Weston Jesuit School of Theology)
Normally, ordering books online leaves a gap between the order, when class starts, and when the book finally arrives. This gap is where I usually fall behind because I don't have the reading yet. Thus, receiving the first 20% digitally rocks! I can do the first few readings while I wait for the reader to arrive.
~ Bryan Rea, Student (Stanford)
I thought buying a course pack online would be expensive and time consuming. University Readers proved me wrong when I received my materials in a short matter of days at a very reasonable price. This company really understands how life at a university works and how the average college students live.
~ Caitlin Hegarty, Student (American U)
My course pack was delivered in a timely fashion which I really appreciate.
~ Caroline Branson, Student (Appalachian State U)
The University Readers’ course pack is an excellent substitution to using the on campus bookstore. The course pack had clean copies, was much cheaper and was put together much better than any I have purchased from the campus bookstore.
~ Catherine Dickstein, Student (Cal Poly, SLO)
I much prefer to get the variety available in a reader than in a single textbook, and love that it's bound rather than tons of loose pages I have to keep up with. It's a great service. It allows the professor to offer greater depth and variety of material at a much more reasonable cost to students.
~ Catherine Hay, Student (CALARTS)
University Course Readers are the BEST way for students to gain material. Not only are they presented and packaged in a way so that notes can be taken on them, but more importantly all of the readings are together, so that as students we avoid the trouble of having to get a print card on campus, or forgetting a particular reading. For example, a recent class I took had most of the course readings through PDF files on E-Reserve. Although the readings were easy to access, we still had to print out each of the readings when it came to exam time, this approximated to at least 250 pieces of paper. Not only could our printing/download time have been cut, but that time could have been spent studying, instead of piecing together readings ourselves. UNIVERSITY READERS ARE NUMBER 1!!!!
~ Chanty Quesada, Student (UCSD)
I like University Readers because given the condensed format of the quarter system, it enables professors to select the really important readings, while it would be nice to read entire text books, this is often a luxury rather than a feasible option, and selected focused readings encourage in depth study rather than mere perusal.
~ Chileshe Mabula, Student (UCSD)
I emailed/called the office and spoke to a real person who got on my problem (the first 20% of the course pack initially refused to download) immediately and stayed on the line till he established that the problem was fixed. The service was courteous and I am likely to buy from University Readers again, and refer friends
~ Chileshe Mabula, Student (UCSD)
It was nice not to have to print out all the different readings that the professors wanted, instead I had it all in one package.
~ Chloe White, Student (U of San Diego)
The University Reader made my class experience a more enriched one and it was very user friendly. I would recommend this service to any professor considering using many articles or readings in their class.
~ Christina Parenteau, Student (CSU San Bernardino)
Knowing all my material were in one easy to use binder made preparing for class that much easier, and got rid of a lot of stress.
~ Daniel Leavitt, Student (Dickinson College)
I would highly urge professors to use this service as opposed to putting readings on library reserve, as it FAR more convenient and not very expensive. This is well worth it, as there's nothing more annoying than having to make a special trip to the library to remain sequestered there for a reserve reading -- assuming it isn't already in use!
~ Elizabeth Keck, Student (Weston Jesuit School of Theology)
First time I ordered the wrong packet and you were nice enough to cancel the order and let me order the correct packet.
~ Elizabeth Martinez, Student (CSU San Bernardino)
You can get the best part of many books in just one! Why carrying many books when all you need is one!
~ Guillermo Prieto Salinas, Student (Weston Jesuit School of Theology)
Course packs are extremely helpful. The course pack allows my professor to select scholarly journal articles that are helpful to the course. I was able to use the journal articles for several other courses as well. It's better than a book.
~ Heather Chenet, Student (CSU Monterey Bay)
The customer service is excellent. They sent out the CD-ROM that I needed right away and I received it within 2 days.
~ Jacqueline Farrell, Student (U of Baltimore)
I appreciated the economical aspect of the course pack along with the up to date information.
~ Jacqueline Lutnick, Student (Yeshiva U)
It was so convenient and easy to purchase (the purchase options were great!)
~ Jacqueline Quinn, Student (U of Central Florida)
Course packets really help students with the cost of books by only picking the articles that we need to read. Instead of buying 14 books to read one chapter each, the course packet I recently bought grouped all those 14 chapters together for a much better deal. I wish more of my professors used them.
~ James Haley, Student (UCI)
Quite a good program. The material is much more specific that any particular text book. The price was quite nice too.
~ James Webb, Student (U of Georgia)
It was really easy to use this service! I recommend it for all teachers!
~ Jamie Owen, Student (CSU Fullerton)
The consolidation of a course's readings into one well-constructed coursepack is enjoyable, rather than a textbook or online printouts, which are merely acceptable.
~ Jarrod Doll, Student (U of Florida)
Honestly, why force students to buy books when you can get the most important parts from each, ensuring that the students always have the book that's required, at a much cheaper price? Readers are brilliant!
~ Jason Tai, Student (UCSD)
It is always quick and easy. I wish all my professors used them!
~ Jeffrey Mello, Student (Episcopal Divinity School)
This is a good site. They are very easy to use and are fast shippers. They are very useful if you are buying a course book and it is needed fast. I wish more of my teachers ordered their course books through UniversityReaders. It made it a lot easier than having to go to a store that could possibly not have it in stock.
~ Jennifer Begg, Student (UCLA)
I really did have a wonderful experience with University Readers. My Course Pack was received in 2 days and was in perfect condition. Thank you.
~ Jessica Burch, Student (CSU San Bernardino)
I appreciated that the materials arrived fairly quickly. I did not have the struggle that I usually do getting textbooks from Amazon.com - ordering books, then finding out that they are sold out, then having to fight with Amazon to get my money back, and spend another week trying to find another book.
~ Jessica Dewell, Student (Benedictine College)
I greatly prefer when professors provide a course pack for use during the course so that all of the materials are available ahead of time. It is very convenient and easy to use.
~ Jill Wollins, Student (Hebrew College)
Low prices. You cannot beat that.
~ Jim Pollpeter, Student (Elmhurst College)
University Readers course packs make my life easier! I have immediate access to the readings for the first few course sessions, and prompt access to the rest. Now I no longer have to travel to the library, check out materials from the reserve desk, and spend the same amount of money (ten cents at a time) at the copy machine. No wonder most professors at my campus use it!
~ Joan Saniuk, Student (Episcopal Divinity School)
Online ordering was a breeze.
~ Jong Lee, Student (UCSD)
Coursepacks are much easier to deal with than loose handouts or having to print out readings from Blackboard every week!
~ Joy Carroll, Student (Weston Jesuit School of Theology)
It was so easy to get the printed material for class online...no long checkout lines, it arrived in just a few days. Very easy!
~ Karen Girardot, Student (Louisiana State U)
Amazing shipping time to Massachusetts! It really made a difference - I hate being a few days behind in readings and University Readers got me my reader within two days of ordering!
~ Katherine Brinkerhoff, Student (U of Massachusetts Amherst)
A University Readers haiku: Grad school can be tough but your readers bring smiles to nerdy students.
~ Kathryn McGee, Student (UCSB)
Very convenient! It gives you everything you need in one packet, no extra weight!
~ Kim Canete, Student (UCSD)
University Readers is going to put University Bookstores out of business. They offer much cheaper cost to students and get the materials to you really fast! I would highly recommend University Readers.
~ Kristen Rea, Student (USC)
It's a convienient way to have a concise and relevant textbook at an affordable price.
~ Kristy Cameron, Student (UCI)
University Readers give an interesting insight to classes. They can help the student step out of the classroom, and apply their knowledge to other situations. University Readers are also a nice break from usual textbook reading.
~ Kyle Beck, Student (UCSD)
For me print material is better for initial reading comprehension, after that online helps me to search out and focus my thoughts throughout the class. A valuable combination.
~ Lenora Finley, Student (U of Illinois at Springfield)
Super easy! I've never had it this easy or fast buying textbooks for school.
~ Lisabeth Loloyan, Student (UCLA)
I frequently find myself writing, on end-of-term course evaluations for courses with a zillion handouts or readings 'on reserve' in the library, 'USE A COURSEPACK!' Especially for adult students with kids, dogs, jobs, and what-have-you, finding time to get to the library in hopes that ONE reserve copy is actually there, or keeping track of innumerable sheets of paper, can be really difficult. A coursepack makes things lots easier.
~ Martha Gillette, Student (Episcopal Divinity School)
A University Readers representative called me...to get the course packet thing taken care of. That was pretty cool that they called me personally.
~ Maryjane Dunne, Student (Portland State U)
My course pack came quickly and was just what I'd needed. Thanks so much for the quality printing and organizing and prompt delivery!
~ Megan Lynes, Student (Harvard)
My reader came very quickly and I didn't have any troubles ordering it or receiving it.
~ Megan Shivers, Student (U of Puget Sound)
University Readers Coursepacks gave me my coursepack in record time, and it is clearly a high quality service that more professors should use.
~ Meredith Moore, Student (Harvard)
The course pack system is really fabulous. It's cheaper for the students and the course pack contains all that's necessary for the course, rather than a lot of extraneous material as in a textbook. It's nice not to have to pay a wad of money for that extraneous material.
~ Meryl Kopy, Student (American U)
Dept of Voc Rehab pays for my books but because of their slow red tape process I had to pay for books out of my pocket. The office was very good about crediting me back the money once the authorization arrived. … Terrific customer service - they were willing to work with me regarding my special situation. Highly recommended!
~ Michael Boucher, Student (UCSD)
The online purchasing process was very smooth and problem-free.
~ Michael Lee, Student (UCLA)
Ordering course packs through University Readers is convenient and affordable. I wish all of my professors used them.
~ Michelle Brennan, Student (UCI)
Try out University Readers, it's fast, affordable and saves you the loaded book-bag.
~ Misan Rewane, Student (Stanford)
No problems were experienced and I received my coursepack in time for class. I also enjoyed having 20% of the content available online.
~ Munjed Murad, Student (George Washington U)
I am very happy with the service offered by the University Readers. It is easy to buy and receive. It is much easier to study and make reference to the course packs. The course packs are lighter to carry and easy to both understand and study during class and for homework.
~ Nadia Gomez, Student (UCI)
I received my course pack within 3 days of ordering it, which is incredibly fast! It was exactly what I ordered and needed for my class and was very useful in studying and understanding my course material.
~ Natalie Derengowski, Student (SDSU)
It was good. I was unsure of the process and was surprised of how quick and easy it was, but would not hesitate to buy another class packet this way.
~ Nathan Haman, Student (U of Nebraska-Lincoln)
It was convenient, easy, and a lot better than buying the individual books!
~ Nicole Flacco, Student (UCI)
University Readers is a great service! They never run out of course packs, and you never have to wait to start the reading. Even if you order a course pack after the class has started, you can finish the reading for the next class because they send you the pdf!
~ Pallavi Yetur, Student (UCSD)
If you're a professor who has their materials together and doesn't like to copy handouts for students before every class, then this service is for you. University Readers will photocopy all of your handouts and bind them together for students to purchase and use as a textbook.
~ Phillip Muldowney, Student (Wayne State U)
The good thing about University Readers is that they are cheaper to buy than purchasing them at the school bookstore. Plus, all the material is in order so you don't have to skip around a big book you never completely use. It's great.
~ Rachel Veu, Student (UCR)
This is really an amazing place to shop for cheap, strong, and useful readers.
~ Robert Dockter, Student (Stanford)
It was nice to have every additional reading included in one book.
~ Robin Hemingway, Student (Cal Poly, SLO)
It was very easy and fast.
~ Rupinder Sandhu, Student (Richland College)
I was very happy with your service. It was easy to order and pay online.
~ Sabrina Shumake, Student (Golden Gate U)
I loved how easy it was to order a course pack from University Readers. It was very quick and simple-exactly what you need at the beginning of a hectic semester. I was also pleased to receive the package in such a short amount of time, just as I was promised.
~ Sheila Mathis, Student (Appalachian State U)
It was easy to access, contents were available online until hardcopy came and it was a GREAT alternative to an expensive textbook. Professors should access this service more, I don't believe they get a percentage of the book sales, so where is the incentive to continue to use overpriced books?
~ Stacy Frost, Student (Western Washington U)
University Readers did the leg work in locating and copying articles, saving me valuable study time.
~ Ted Jeffers, Student (U of Oklahoma)
I am pleased to know that my professor cared to save us money and get the best resources available.
~ Ted Neumann, Student (CUNY York College)
The University Readers course packs are comparable in price and sometimes cheaper than photocopying large, unwieldy binders of course readings, yet are a huge improvement from the professors' point of view in terms of compiling the articles, and from the students' point of view in terms of ease of access and use of the reading materials. Strongly recommended!
~ Terence McKinney, Student (Weston Jesuit School of Theology)
The shipping was quick and cheap, which was fantastic. Also great to have the first 20% available online so if my professor didn't get the purchasing information to me until the first day of class (which happened) then I still had the first 20% available immediately for working on class assignments while waiting for the package to come in.
~ Teresa Sesera, Student (Stanford)
Course readers are fantastic. So far I've had one for a biology class and one for a psychology one. What was so excellent about the readers is that it allowed the students to read information from a lot of different sources. It can really open your mind to see so many different writings.
~ Tiffany Hays, Student (UCI)
I had not received my coursepack in time for a class (due to me ordering it late) and called the customer service line. A representative was able to download and fax me what I needed. Good customer service!
~ Vanecia Duggan, Student (U of Baltimore)
I would MUCH MUCH MUCH rather professors use these university readers than have us print copies of articles for each class. The amount of money we pay for these readers is probably less in the end than we pay for paper, ink, and time spent downloading/printing the articles.
~ Vanessa Randazz, Student (UCSD)
It's about time professors started using this option. It's easy, up to date and efficient whereas textbooks are so expensive and sometimes hard to find.
~ Vivien Killilea, Student (Pepperdine)
I was able to order the packet easily online, was able to access the online part of the packet immediately, received the packet in less than a week and it was fabulous! Thank you!
~ Wendy Siegel, Student (Hebrew College)
It was pretty easy to do and cheap to boot.
~ William Mathews, Student (Truckee Meadows Community College)
University Readers was one of the most professional and timely course packet preparation services that I have ever used. I wish more of my professors would make use of its services.
~ Won Chai, Student (Yale)
